EARTH LOVE

“Earth is the fullness of life. Roots music represents all that is good and upful, yet teachings through music must be followed by passionate action. Give thanks to this divine Royal Empress, the Earth, for all she’s worth” ANUE NAHKI

To honor, cherish and protect the rich bounties of our Earth is to accept the foundation of RASTAFARI livity.  Anue Nahki, raised by Rastafari parents in the little town of Cromwelland, St. Mary, Jamaica, grew up with farming as the mainstay of his family existence. After the passing of his father, Anue’s mother moved to the south coast of Jamaica to fish the sea. A boat engine failure on one fishing trips her afloat for several days until reaching the coast of Mexico. The intensive experience of living from Mother Earth is a reminder of nature’s overpowering essence. The Earth is the Mother of all life and must be protected to ensure the intended balance of the Most High. Humans cannot rule the forces of nature, yet, humans play a critical role in protecting the health and welfare of the planet.

Anue Nahki’s new release “Earth Love” reveals his innermost consciousness through a lyrical appeal “I just want to love you, I don’t want to just hear you.” The single and video were released on January 26 by Zojak Worldwide and Reggaeville YouTube channel. The Earth is crying from increased devastation of environmental degradation. Anue is hopeful that Jamaica, along with the rest of the world, will implement stricter laws to stop overuse of plastic, mining of minerals, cutting of trees, trashing of natural lands and seas, and most of all, to form a system that forces renewal of nature. The solution is to scientifically analyze how to manage everyday needs. It requires unification of science, government and the personal responsibility by a forward thinking society.

Anue believes the role of children is also critical to the change needed to save his homeland of Jamaica from environmental disaster. Children are raised using everyday items like plastic juice and food containers that are subconsciously thrown onto the land. If children were educated, at the earliest age about the long term ramifications, they could be indoctrinated to recycle and reuse. Anue believes education of the youth could be the most important change to address the problem. Children and young adults would play a great role in a cleaner, safer tomorrow.

One excellent example of serious environmental destruction is the ongoing conflict between the Cockpit Country communities in Jamaica, mining operations and lack of government protection. Critical water resources are threatened by pollution. This article explains what is at stake. https://savecockpitcountry.org/

The Jamaica Environmental Trust also released a series of educational videos online but who is really watching? The land designated for increased protection by Prime Minister Andrew Holness did not cover the entirety of the Cockpit Country that supplies 40% of western Jamaica’s water needs. Anue maintains the government must issue stricter laws and local communities must engage in consistent education with activities to garner growing support. Rastafari communities have long been the biggest advocates of environmental protection for the Cockpit country.

EARTH LOVE is much more than a song. It is a plea to the uneducated, the apathetic, those with indifferences to clean air, clean water, and all the bountiful resources that provide healthy life for people, animals and plants. These treasures require a commitment through daily practice. The entire world requires a major change in thinking along with dedicated sensibilities to reduce disease and to preserve all life on Earth. To love the Creator is to bear the responsibility of EARTH LOVE and to implement good decision making and practices to recover and support a clean and thriving future.
